Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service

The Community's Own

Every dollar you raise during Ride to Fly MTB, supports your Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service in Northern NSW. Providing a vital 24-7 aeromedical search and rescue service for our community, the Service supports over 1.5 million people from bases in Belmont, Tamworth and Lismore.

Your support keeps us ready to respond to those who need it most.

On board every mission is a Pilot, Aircrew Officer, Critical Care NSW Ambulance Paramedic and NSW Health Doctor. Some missions may also include a specialist nursing professional.

Your donation isn't just a financial contribution; it's an active participation in the Service's mission, ensuring we can be there for those who need us most.

Missions

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter flies over 1,600 missions a year, including responding to emergency Triple Zero (000) calls, inter-hospital transfers and search and rescue.

Missions can be flown to regional hospitals, roads, farms, workplaces, bushland, at the beach, out to sea, on sporting fields, and isolated or challenging environments.

Wherever you are in regional, remote or inaccessible locations, we are ready to respond with the highest standard of aeromedical and rescue services, 24-7 from our three bases in Northern NSW.

Funding

Fundraising remains vital to our sustainability, growth and standards of excellence. It is invested in facilities, training, equiptment, people and new technologies to enable the highest standards.

Our goal is to fundraise $10.5m after costs of fundraising. Without this fundraising contribution the Service would run at a loss and not be financially sustainable.

Our Naming Rights Sponsor Westpac was with us on our first flight in 1975, and today is recognised as one of the longest running community partnerships in Australia.
