Ride Route

Day 1

Wednesday 12 March

This morning you will travel via private vehicle to Jacks RTidge MTB Park at North Macksville for a great afternoon of fun on their fantastic trails. We'll have local guides to assist for the afternoon, we'll split into two group depending on experience so riders can have the maximum amount of fun and challenge.

For those who haven't experienced Jacks Ridge, the locals have put in an incredible amount of work to create six differing trail loops to cater for all levels of riders. A and B lines are clearly marked with most A lines achieveable by competent riders. Our guides will take the lead ensuring regular stopping with briefs on what is coming up so riders can make informed decisions on what is best and safest for them.

At roughly 4pm we'll pull-up stumps and head north of Coffs Harbour to Reflections Holiday Park Moonee Beach, our home for the next four nights with it's stunning coastal views.

Day 2

Thursday 13 March

This morning we travel by private vehicle to Bom Bom MTB Park south of Grafton for a morning of cross-country riding. Bom Bom has a loop ride of around 25-30kms, once again we'll have guides on hand to assist our riders. Bom Bom offers a variety of relatively straight-forward trails that include the fabulous V Line section, a series of rideable drops into and out of gullies, a really exciting and fun experience.

At around 11am we'll again pack up and travel south to the very well known Wedding Bells MTB gravity park. As a group we'll head up to the trailhead for our lunch ably provided by our support team and then an afternoon of awesome riding the Wedding Bells gravity trails. There are around 5-6 green trails, and for the more experienced 3 or 4 black trails. All trails have very clearly marked A and B lines. so you can test yourself at the level approriate to your level of experience.

Back to Reflections Moonee Beach at the end of the day for a well earned break and pizza night inhouse.

Day 4

Saturday 15th March

Another loop ride from Reflections Moonee beach, we head north along the old Pacific Highway to the town of Woolgoolga and turn west into the fantastic forests that once hosted both the Australian and World Rally Championships. Great tracks and forest roads today, Gentle Annie and Sherwood Roads to name a few, and then loop back to Moonee Beach for a later lunch and some down time before our end-of-ride presentaion night and dinner at the excellent Moonee Beach Hotel. Here our weekly awards for Prncess, Rookie, Plugger and Dummy Spit will be "awarded", we also have daily awards for these announced at dinner each night.

Day 3

Friday 14 March

Today we head on an out and back ride from Reflections Moonee Beach heading directly west, up a formidable climb to start with, and then forest and farm roads that get us to our morning tea stop at the magnificent Sealy Point Lookout. A break to enjoy the view and then it's downhill to our much looked forward to annual school visit, this year at the fabulous Kororo Public School where we provide a safety talk to students around bike-riding, update them on the importance of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, and enjoy the students checking out the bikes and asking questions of our ride team. Lunch will follow at the stunning Korora Beach before returning to Reflections Moonee Beach along the scenic "old coast road" for gourmet BBQ night inhouse.

Day 5

Sunday 16 March

After our final in-house breakfast provided by our wonderful support team, we pack up and head home. For those who want an additional ride on the way home there are opportunities at Kempsey and Taree MTB parks but these are unsupported if you decide to stop off.

This will bring to an end the 2025 Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service Ride to Fly MTB event, a brilliant five days of incredibly well-organised riding and friendship, at the same time knowing you have helped the Service respond to over 1600 missions across Northern NSW each year by participating.

Thank you on behalf of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, and those we assist.
