HOW IT WORKS
Base to Base is a brand new fitness challenge which will see you walk, ride, run or roll the distance between any of our four Westpac Rescue Helicopter bases across Northern NSW throughout October.
Missions range from 42km to 1386km. You and your team can collectively clock your kilometres to travel the distance and complete a mission. Or – choose to fly solo! If you want to go it alone, that’s okay too.
Once you’ve chosen your mission, use your Base to Base page to raise vital funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter to keep us ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We will be taking off together on October 1, so any kilometres logged before September 30 will be reset to zero so no-one gets a head start!
We are offering very cool incentive prizes including a Garmin smartwatch for our top four individual fundraisers. The top four fundraising teams will be invited to a special catered function at their nearest Rescue Helicopter Base. PLUS, the first 500 participants to raise $50 will receive a limited edition Base to Base buff to get you moving in style.
Choose your mission and assemble your crew!
1. Choose your challenge.
Are you flying solo or assembling a crew?
2. Share your challenge with family and friends.
3. Track your kilometres throughout October to reach your base.
You Move. So we can Fly.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter proudly provides a vital aeromedical and search & rescue service for the people of Northern NSW, flying over 1500 missions a year.
Supporting an area of over 1.5 million people from three bases in Belmont, Tamworth and Lismore, the Service is there for those who need it most.
Your fundraising dollars help to keep the Rescue Helicopter flying 24-7 for those in need, like young Millie featured in this video.
“I remember staring at Millie and the Doctor turned to the Pilot and said '...fly as quick as you can, because this girl isn't going to make it.' "
- Stephanie (Millie's Mum)
