Living and working in regional areas has opened my eyes to just how vital the Westpac Rescue Helicopter is for our communities.
They’re there when it matters most—responding 24/7, 365 days a year. Whether it’s an accident on a remote road, a medical emergency on a property, or help needed in a hard-to-reach area, they show up. No one ever pays to be rescued.
Every flight costs around $4,000—fuel, equipment, maintenance—it all adds up. And it’s all made possible through community support.
I’m taking on 36km in the 2025 Byron Coastal Charity Walk to help keep them flying. If you’re able, please chip in via my fundraising page. It could be any of us, any day, who needs that helicopter overhead.
