I am fundraising for

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service! I’m taking part in the Base to Base Challenge this October to raise funds for this worthwhile charity. 

I’ve got one full month to complete my mission on bike, whilst the Rescue Helicopter will be completing approximately 120 missions by air. 

While I won’t come close to the Rescue Helicopter’s maximum speed of 310km/h, I will be doing my part to help save lives across Northern NSW.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter provides urgent aeromedical assistance to over 1.5 million people, from Pre-Hospital Emergencies such as motor vehicle, farming and industrial accidents to Inter-Hospital Transfers of critically ill or injured.  As a flying intensive care unit, the crew is able to stabilise patients on the scene or in the air before safely and rapidly delivering them to the most appropriate hospital.

All funds raised on my mission this October will help keep the Rescue Helicopters ready to respond to those who need it most so please make a donation and support my Base to Base mission.

Today I got the luxury of riding outside compared to being on the indoor bike and did around 30 kilometres riding, to school and back. On the way back I also got to see the sea eagle on Newcastle beach as I went past. Although it is near the end of October, I still have a few more kilometres to go and are very encouraged by all the very kind donors that I have received. 

Day 17 indoor ride

Thursday 17th Oct
Another ZWIFT ride today, I did the Watopia Beach Island loop and completed 13 kilometres. I will start riding to school and back which will add an extra 8kms to my kilometres. Another huge thank you to all the generous people who have already donated.

Day 9 indoor ride

Thursday 10th Oct
Thank You to everyone who has supported my mission so far. It is very much appreciated. Today I did an indoor ride on Zwift which although is not quite as enjoyable as riding outside, it is a good churn and I got my 20km and more done. I did the Watopia Waistband loop which was 27.7 km and 101 meters up. Then I continued on until 31 kms, joining the group coming past. On the weekend I have the MTB state champs, so I will not be riding much until after the weekend.
